What information do I need to request a NIE?

Obtaining your NIE requires basic personal information. This includes: your full legal name, resident address, nationality, sex, marriage status, occupation, first names of your mother and father, and reason for obtaining the NIE. In addition, you need a valid and current passport.

What information do I need to request a NIF?

Obtaining a NIF first requires one of the company's directors to have a NIE. In addition, it's required to know the full legal names, and occupations of all directors who control more than 25% of the company. This typically requires a copy of the company's operating agreement or bylaws. Finally, basic company information such as company name and registered address are required.

What does FastNIE do behind the scenes?

We designed our services to make the process as effortless as possible for you. The first step is to collect the required details for the person or individual who requires the NIE or NIF.

We then prepare a Power of Attorney document, which gives authority to our representatives in Spain to request the NIE or NIF on your behalf.

We send this to you for your review and schedule a virtual meeting with our notary. You will then identify yourself and sign the document, without ever having to leave your home or office.

Our notary then certifies the Power of Attorney document through an Apostille service, which allows the Power of Attorney document to be internationally recognized by our representatives in Spain.

We physically ship the stamped document to Spain, where our representatives physically visit a local government office which issues the NIE or NIF.

We finally email you the ID. In parallel, we mail your physical document to the address provided.

What's the fastest way to get a NIE or NIF?

This depends on how involved you want to be in the process. Here at FastNIE, we have optimized the process as fast as possible, with the most simplicity for you as our client.

However, the fastest way to get a NIE or NIF is for you to fill the necessary forms and to physically go to a government office in Spain, or to visit your country's Spanish embassy. Depending on service demands, you may need to wait days or weeks to obtain an appointment.
